Physicians Formula Organic Wear Mascara

Physicians Formula Organic Wear Mascara

It’s nice to see brands going toward the natural/organic route. This caught my eye at CVS and was on sale for 40% off, so I thought I’d give it a try (it’s normally priced at about $10).

Description:

  • 5x lash boosting, lengthens, volumizes, defines
  • 100% free of harsh chemicals, synthetic preservatives, parabens, clumping, smudging, flaking, fibers, dyes
  • 100% recyclable eco-brush
  • 70% of the total ingredients are from organic farming

I would say this mascara is better than what I expected. I use this more as a daily wear mascara, not wanting super dramatic, false looking lashes. It does volumize and lengthen decently, but not dramatically. My favorite thing about this product is the brush applicator, which looks similar to Cover Girl’s Lashblast one. It does an exceptional job at separating the lashes without clumping.

The formula is not super wet, which I prefer for an everyday mascara because it doesn’t transfer onto my skin when I blink after I apply. It’s such a pain to try and wipe mascara off your skin when you’re in a rush in the mornings! It also leaves your lashes feeling soft and flexible.

I didn’t have a problem with smudging or flaking with this either, even after a sweaty workout at the gym. It also comes off easily with warm water or make-up remover, which is a plus. Sometimes with more heavy duty mascaras, it takes so much work getting it all off!

My only gripe about this product is the packaging. It’s a little too cutesy for my taste and looks like it’s targeted for tweens, but it definitely catches your eye.

All in all, I would repurchase this again for my daytime wear. I really like how it uses all natural ingredients, perfect for people with sensitive eyes.

BRIGHT LIPS ON A BUDGET

A simple way to add more excitement to your looks is by adding a pop of color to your lips. I tend to keep a pretty neutral lip, so spending more than $10 on lipstick isn’t very appealing.

WET N WILD SILK FINISH LIPSTICK

Color: 511B Nouveau Pinkwetnwild_511b

Let me just say, $0.99. Yea, I can go crazy and try colors I’m hesitant about without feeling guilty about spending the dough.

I normally don’t wear hot pink on my lips, but it’s definitely a fun way to accessorize on occasion. As the name states, it’s definitely silky and glides on with ease (no need for a lip gloss on top). Also, there’s no funky smell that some cheaper cosmetics have.

The only complaint I have about this is that the lipstick doesn’t go all the way down the tube when you twist it, so you have to be careful about putting the cap back on without taking a chunk of it off. Then again, I can’t really complain for $0.99!

MAYBELLINE COLOR SENSATIONAL LIPSTICK

Color: 515 Coral Crushmaybelline_515

This is another one of my go-to colors to brighten up my look. Definitely a favorite for Spring/Summer.

The formula is moisturizing and goes on somewhat sheer on the first swipe, which is nice since you have the option to wear it more subtly or build up.

This has a kind of coconut/almond butter scent and the color veers more toward the reddish-pink side of coral instead of orange.

For around $7-8, this is a great way to quickly add a bright statement to your overall look!
