EOS Shave Cream

The one thing that draws you to most EOS products is their packaging- they come in fun, cute colors and scents which make you instantly reach out and throw it into your shopping basket… I know, I’m guilty.

I have been using their shaving cream for about a year now, and it’s pretty good. The sad thing is, I think I just like how the product looks in my shower. The bright colored bottle makes me feel a bit more cheerful… sad, I know.

Now, I can see people either loving or hating this, here’s why-

Some positives:

  • uses natural shea butter and aloe
  • paraben-free
  • phthalate-free (phthalates are used in many plastics and cosmetic products which some argue to cause negative health effects)

If you’re like me, and have to do a quick, dry shave once in a while, this is great since you can use it wet or dry. The consistency is very much like a lotion, so although that’s ideal for a dry shave, some may despise it while using it in the shower.

While shaving in the shower, you have to make sure you’re completely away from the shower stream since this washes away quite easily and doesn’t hold up as well as most foam shaving creams. I tend to use a lot of product while in the shower- about 4-5 pumps to lather up one leg.

The scents are really fragrant. I normally use the pomegranate raspberry one, but decided to switch it up and got the lavender jasmine this time around. I can see people who are sensitive to smells not liking this too much, as the scents are pretty strong. Luckily, they do carry a fragrance-free version.

To be honest, this product is probably no different than using a lotion or conditioner to shave, but it does help in reducing irritation or razor bumps since it is moisturizing.

One thing I do not like about this is that once you’re down to about the last quarter of the bottle, the product won’t pump out. The straw is too short, which is pretty annoying.

One bottle lasts me about a month or two and retails for around $3-4.
